Our Story...
The Check In Project was born from heartbreak—and from love.
After losing our friend Julian to suicide, our world changed in a way we never expected. Like so many others who experience this kind of loss, we were left with questions, with pain, and with the overwhelming feeling that maybe something more could have been done. In that space, one truth became clear: people need to know they matter, and they need to hear it—often.
Out of that realization, The Check In Project was created.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to remind people that you matter and we’re happy you’re here. These aren’t just phrases to us—they’re lifelines. They’re the words someone might need to hear on their hardest day. They’re the message we wish could reach every person silently struggling.
We believe that checking in on one another can save lives. A simple message, a conversation, a moment of genuine care—it all adds up. Through this project, we aim to create a culture where it’s okay to not be okay, where asking for help is seen as strength, and where no one feels like they have to face their struggles alone.
The Check In Project exists for you, for your friends, for your family—for anyone who needs a reminder that their life has value and their presence matters.
If you’re struggling, we hope you reach out.
If you know someone who might be, we hope you check in.
Because you matter.
And we’re truly happy you’re here.
